iphoto Error Message

I get this message: Your Photos library is incompatible with iCloud Photo Library.

I am asked to choose a photo library from the list, find another library on your computer, or create a new library. I don't remember creating these libraries.

1. How do I make it compatible?I find the iPhoto Library.photolibrary system very confusing?

2. How do I create a library?

3. Where are they located on my drive? I can't find them!

4. Which is my main photo library?

5. Why would I create more than one?

6. How do I create one photo library to keep all my photos?

I have the following libraries and I know I did not create them:

iPhoto Library.photolibrary Last modified 9/22/16, 3:19 pm

Photos Library.photoslibrary Last modified Today, 8:59 am

iPhoto Library.photolibrary Last modified 8/18/15, 12: 39 pm

iPhoto Library.photolibrary Last modified 1/5/16, 3:59 pm

I want to keep all my photos in the cloud to access from my other devices, iphone & ipad.

This is all very confusing?

Where are the libraries located? Are they in your Pictures folder or on an external drive?

Did you previously use iPhoto and want to migrate the iPhoto Library to Photos and then enable it as an iCloud Photo Library?

Photos will create Photos Libraries on its own, if the drive is not compatible, where the Photos Library is stored. You can only use iCloud Photo Library with Photos, if your Photos Library is on a locally mounted drive, with the file system MacOS Extended (Journaled). If you want to migrate an iPhoto lIbrary to Photos, it needs also to be on a locally mounted drive, with the file system MacOS Extended (Journaled), not on a NAS or a Time Machine drive.

Where is the iPhoto Library that you want to migrate?
